Transport, on the other hand, represents one of the sectors that contribute most towards a worsening of the problem of climate change. According to data from the year 2007, transport consumes 37% of the total final energy consumption in Navarre, and is noteworthy for its high growth rate in recent years – 9%. It is the sector that contributes most towards the ecological footprint associated with energy consumption (44%), and is also responsible for 24% of total greenhouse effect gas emissions, with an increase of nearly 50% since 1990.
CRANA carries out activities and projects that promote the most efficient and environmentally-friendly means of travelling; walking, cycling and public transport, as well as the rational use of the private car - shared car and efficient driving.
